Do you have a happy place in your home? A retreat for quiet time? A place where you can be unplugged and lock the door if necessary? We all need it. That place, that space to be alone with our thoughts and to seek the peace God wants for our lives. A place that inspires you to create, dream or imagine the life God has called you to. Away from the life’s demands and the urge to hustle. I was inspired to create this space after watching the movie, The War Room. Such an inspiring movie that leaves you questioning whether or not we are really taking the time to seek and pray for God’s wisdom in our lives. Are we praying for the people in our lives we love the most? That calls for space alone and if that means clearing out your closet like Priscilla Shirer’s character in movie, then so be it! (Although I think that we were all left wondering where she put all of her clothes?) Another thought from the movie that resonated with me is that my contentment comes from the Lord, not from anyone or anything. Let that sit with you for a moment. I highly encourage you to watch the movie and hope you feel inspired to make space for yourself to seek God’s best for your life.
“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
