It dawned on me, watching from the sidelines at a 5K race I normally run, how easy it is to judge from the sidelines. I was actually criticizing the speed of another girl who was clearly giving it her all. Not a proud moment. Not My Best Me for sure! The person I was with pointed out that it was like 90 degrees and I realized, who am I to judge watching from the sidelines?
Isn’t this true in so many aspects of our life? We are so quick to criticize the things that we are not a part of or really know nothing about. Why is this? Does it make us feel superior or better in some way? Do we actually know what it’s like to give it our all in that scenario? I am pretty sure if we did we would be running along side them or at the very least cheering them on. Because really, the world does not need any more critics. We can handle that on our own, I’m sure! I do think that the world could use some more cheer leaders, encouragers and supporters of people giving it their all. Don’t you? So…what can you do today to cheer on someone in their race? I know I for one would like a do-over, but learn from my mistake and make someone’s day by cheering them on!
